Visit the town’s Colonial district of Federal, Greek Revival, Gothic Revival and Queen Anne style homes. The first permanent settlement in the state, Edenton is home to a diverse collection of restaurants, shops, medical facilities and convenience centers to satisfy your everyday shopping needs.
The historic towns of Windsor and Plymouth are also located 20 minutes from Scotch Hall Preserve. King Street, in the heart of the Historic District of Windsor, includes many fine examples of 18th and 19th Century architecture. Nearby Hope Plantation is home to the Hope Mansion, built in 1803 by then Governor David Stone and is a stunning example of an academic architectural combination of Federal and Georgian architecture. Plymouth is situated along the Roanoke River where visitors will discover Port ‘O Plymouth history/Civil War Museum, The Roanoke River Lighthouse and Maritime Museum.
