Merry Hill, NC (February 25, 2012) – Scotch Hall Preserve has unveiled plans for an elegant new collection of waterfront cottages on the Albemarle Sound in the resort community located between the two historic towns of Windsor and Edenton in Northeastern North Carolina.

The new collection – to be called The Cottages on the Albemarle – will feature a diversity of floorplans designed in the Coastal Carolina vernacular, ranging from 1,300 to over 2,000 square feet and priced from the low $200’s to the high $300,000’s.

The community will break ground on six cottage models next month, according to Rex Galloway of Greenville, SC-based IMI Living, which is handling the full spectrum of development, amenity operation and sales & marketing of the community for the Rial Corporation.

All six models are expected to be completed by late summer or early fall, Galloway said.

Four of the models will sit directly on the Albemarle Sound, while the other two will have Sound views. The first phase of the cottage neighborhood will ultimately feature homesites with Sound-front, Sound-view and Golf-view residences.

The cottages are the first step in a $7 million construction plan soon to be underway at the 950-acre community. Also on the way is the the community’s beach club and pavilion, featuring one of the largest resort pools in Northeastern North Carolina.

The beach club also includes a children’s playground along with a spacious pavilion for special events and family gatherings, with a gazebo, fire pit, grill, bar, restrooms and changing areas.

Galloway also announced that construction will begin soon on the first phase of the Scotch Hall Clubhouse at the highest point in the community, overlooking the 9th and 18th holes of the acclaimed Arnold Palmer Signature course, voted the ninth best new course in the nation in 2009 by Golf Digest magazine.
